WELCOME
Hello!
Firstly, a massive thank you for taking the time to help Zach and I out with this testing phase of screenstorm. We really appreciate it, and hope that we are creating something that will be both useful and fun for screen creatives and their teams.

This was an idea I had when I was leading the development team at Boom and found myself time poor, struggling to keep track of my teams’ ideas and make sessions feel interactive when we were hybrid working.

screenstorm hopes to address these issues with a suite of games designed to generate ideas for the screen industries and a logging system to track and share these ideas after sessions.

WHAT TO DO NEXT:

I’m hoping the testing process will be clear as you work down the flow diagram on the webpage below but just to clarify the steps –
  • The dull, but most important bit - please have a read of the T&Cs & Privacy Policy. Here we make a promise to you to protect your personal data and the IP you develop. We will never access your idea log data unless you request us to in the event of needing technical support. You will need to agree to these to continue with the test when you login to the app.
  • You will then have access to the web version of the app via a link, so no need to download an actual app at this point. If you are playing alone or the leader of a team, please sign up to an account. If you want to add team members, you can generate an access code and they can play by entering it instead of logging in.
  • You can then play a brain warm up game (‘Blank’ The Musical), designed to get creative thinking going and eliminate the self-limiting mindset.
  • We then have one simple example of a screenstorm game (Telly Blender), designed to help you generate new ideas. You will be able to log these and then the person who signed up to the account can these to their email & forward this to your team.
  • The logs will be stored within the app for access anytime.
Please feel free to use the app as much as you like while we leave it open for testing (testing will close 22nd July).

After we have completed all the testing feedback, we will delete all accounts, so please make sure you’ve sent your logs to your emails before then! We will then be transferring to the App Store & Google Play, ready for launch.

POST TEST READ & SURVEY

After you’ve had a play, please then give our pitch pack a read – it contains all features we hope to launch in version 1 of the app.

Finally, there is a short survey to complete – please be honest, we are expecting all sorts of chaos at this stage and your candour is really useful. You will still be on the Christmas card list! And then you are done!

As a thank you we would like to send you a code to get the first month of Version 1 for free, on launch (register interest in the survey).

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the “Screenstorm Games” application provided by Awkward Studios Ltd ("we", "us", "our", "Awkward Studios") via our website and mobile applications available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
1. Company Details
Awkward Studios Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16272832) with a registered office at International House, 10 Churchill Way, Cardiff, United Kingdom, CF10 2HE.
2. Eligibility
You many only use the App if:
  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You are based in the UK or are accessing the App in accordance with UK law.
3. Description of the Service
Screenstorm Games provides tools to help users generate creative ideas for TV shows, films, and games. The App is intended to support content idea creation only and does not guarantee the uniqueness, originality, market value, or legal viability of any output.
4. User Account
  • You must provide accurate and complete registration details.
  • You are responsible for securing your login information.
  • You must notify us of any unauthorised access.
5. Subscription and Payment
  • The App is a paid service. Subscription prices are clearly listed at checkout.
  • Payment is handled securely by Apple or Google depending on your device.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
  • You may cancel at any time through your Apple or Google account settings.
6. Intellectual Property & Content Ownership
  • You retain ownership of your inputs and generated content.
  • Awkward Studios does not claim rights to your ideas.
  • You are responsible for clearing any 3rd party rights arising in connection with any content generated or contributed by you or guest users of your account.
  • Your ideas will not be accessible to 3rd parties using the App.
  • We will only access your account with your express permission for investigation, problem resolution or technical support reasons.
  • You acknowledge and agree that Awkward Studios is expert in content development and has developed this App using its expertise. You acknowledge that Awkward Studios continues to develop its own content ideas and may independently develop content that resembles ideas generated or submitted by users. You hereby waive any right to make legal claims in such instances. Awkward Studios can upon request provide evidence of dates and times of access to user accounts.
7. Code of Conduct
You agree not to:
  • Use the App to infringe others' rights or IP.
  • Reverse-engineer, modify or replicate the App or its contents.
  • Use the App to harass, abuse, or threaten others.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law Awkward Studios its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, licensors, or service providers shall not be liable for any:
  • indirect or consequential loss, including, but not limited to:
    • loss of profits,
    • replaceloss of revenue,
    • loss of data,
    • business interruption,
    • or other intangible losses
arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the App or its services, any conduct or content of any third party on the App, any content generated by the App or unauthorised access, use, or alteration of your data.
Total Liability Cap Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising under or in connection with your use of the App or services shall not exceed the total amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the liability. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under UK law.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms. Refunds will not be issued in such cases.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

IP Waiver and Legal Acknowledgment
By using this App, you acknowledge that:
  • You remain the legal owner of your original ideas and inputs.
  • Awkward Studios may independently develop similar content, and you waive all claims arising from perceived similarity.
  • You are solely responsible for obtaining clearance of all 3rd party rights in your ideas.
  • This App does not provide legal IP advice or IP registration services.
App Store and Google Play Terms
If you download the App through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, the following terms apply:
  1. Platform Payments & Subscriptions
    • Payments and subscriptions are handled by Apple/Google.
    • You must cancel subscriptions through your platform account.
    • Refund requests must be submitted through Apple/Google under their terms:

    • Apple/Google are not responsible for the performance or content of this App.
    • You agree that Apple/Google are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them.
  3. Data Collection by Platforms

User Agreement
By creating an account or using the App, you confirm:
  • You have read and understood these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Waiver.
  • You agree to be bound by them.
  • You grant Awkward Studios permission to process your data in line with UK GDPR.
  • You hereby waive any claims against Awkward Studios related to idea similarity or IP overlaps.
